Activities in the field of Sleep health and sleep health related disorder
SISTRY Foundation has been working in the field of Sleep health and sleep health related disorder for the last 10 years. Sleep health related disorder is increasing day by day leading to different health problems of vulnerable people affecting their daily work. To address this problem and improve the sleep health of vulnerable people SISTRY Foundation has been conducting from its own fund awareness and screening camps among the Vulnerable people with a view to make them aware abut sleep health, sleep health related disorder and its causes and consequences and also the ways how to improve their sleep health. In those camps at the community level the high-risk people for sleep health related disorder are also screened and the people diagnosed with sleep health related disorder are referred to local health providers for care and treatment. They are also followed up regularly.

Women’s empowerment through awareness generation and livelihood promotion program.
Social awareness camp.
Social awareness camp has been conducted at 5 villages in Purbasthali-I block in Purba Bardhhaman District in West Bengal. The duration of each camp was for three days. 50 to 52 women belong to SC, ST and minority communities participated at each camp.The awareness generation camp have made the women aware about the following topics :
The rights of women to inherited property.
The rights of tribal and minority women.
Right to Education Act 2009.
EarlyChildhood Marriage Resistance Act 1929.
Anti Trafficking Act 1956.
Dowry Prohibition Act 1961.
Prevention of Domestic Violence Act 2005.
POSCO Act (protection of children from of sexual offences).
Minimum Wages Act, 1948.
Prevention of women from sexual harassment at workplaces Act 2013.
Right to information Act 2005.
Gender discrimination and gender related violence.
Organizing the disadvantaged and backward women through self-help group.
With a view to organizing the Dalits, tribal and minority women to help self-help groups have been formed at 5 backward villages. The group leaders of the self-help groups have been given capacity building training in leadership development, simple account and book keeping, savings generation and credit disbarment for the smooth functioning of the SHG.
Organizing the backward farm women through farmers interest group and farmers producers company.
To protect the rights of farm women and for rescuing them from the exploitation of the middle men 2423 farm women have been organized through farmers interest group (FIG) and farmers producers company (FPC). Group leaders of the FIG have been given capacity building training for the smooth function of the FIG besides the board director of farmer producers company have been given capacity building training. The farm women have also been training in the scientific system of cultivation and alternative farming. They have also been given training on credit linkage and marketing. Farm women have been facilitated to get fair and remunerative and prices for the agricultural produce through marketing of the produces by farmers producers company.
Livelihood promotion program for the backward women through skill formation training.
During the year under report 120 women belonging to Dalits, tribal and minority communities have been given training in tailoring, embroidery, weaving, goatery, poultry and kitchen gardening. In the post training period they have been given credit and marketing linkage thereby making them economically self-sufficient.
Covid-19 relief programme.
During the year 2020-21 Covid-19 relief programme has been conducted from the own fund of Sistry Foundation. Dry food has been provided to 465 Covid affected poor families in Purba Bardhaman district in West Bengal.
Amphan relief programme.
During the year 2020-21 a terrible storm named as Amphan lashed and tossed the entire Sundarban area leaving in its trail death, destruction and devastation. Sundarban area was worstly affected. Sistry Foundation stood by the Amphan Victims by conducting emergency relief programme. Sistry Foundation distributed dry food, soap, mosquito coil, mosquito net, bed sheet, tarpaulin, torch, sanitary pad among 245 Amphan affected people in Mousunai Island in the Sundarban area.
Community-based health care program
Blood donation camp.
Every year the organization conducts blood donation camp in collaboration with Nabadwip State General Hospital.
Eye check up camp
Every year the organization conducted one eye check up camp at Prachin Mayapur under Nabadwip Municipal Corporation area in Nadia district in West Bengal for poverty-stricken old people were present at the camp. One eye specialist examines the eyes of the old peoples. The sac and cataract patients were detected and were referred to the Lions Club Nabadwip. Every patient was given a spectacle, free of cost.
Awareness camp on diabetes and other non-communicable diseases like cancer and cardio vascular diseases.
India is the capital of diabetes. Due to blind imitation of modern life-style in the rural area also the under privilege people suffer from diabetes, cancer and cardio vascular diseases. During the current financial year SISTRY FOUNDATION has organized 5 awareness generation camps on diabetes and different other non-communicable diseases at 5backward villages in Purbasthali-I block in Purba Bardhhaman District in West Bengal. 50 – 52 rural men and women on the average participated at each camp. The duration of each camp was for one day about the following topics:

Type of diabetes like type-1 and type-2 diabetes.
Symptoms of diabetes.
Different complication of diabetes like diabetes related foot ulcers, kidney related diseases and kidney failure, cardio-vascular diseases, retinopathy etc.
How to prevent type-2 diabetes through lifestyle modification.
How to take diabetic foot care.
Basic concepts of cancer and symptoms of different types of cancers and particularly breast cancer.
How to prevent best cancer through self-examination in checking of breast.
Basic concept about cardiovascular diseases and how to check cardiovascular diseases through life-style changes.
Basic concept of hyper tension and how to preventive through life-style modification.
